Large Porcelain and Gold Droplet Vase
This vase is the little sister to the larger version, As seen on BBC 1 Maket It at Market, Series 3, Episode 4.
Each porcelain droplet is made separately and attached with slip to the body of the porcelain form. Considering composition and how each element knits together and meets is a labour of love. Once complete, the piece is allowed to dry very slowly, over several weeks, to ensure each element dries at the same rate. The clay shrinks by up to 30%, a remarkable amount, it is important the piece moves together as one. The insides of each vessel are glazed with a clear glaze.
This vase has three kiln firings, the third is the lustre firing, to achieve the real gold elements.

UK Delivery
Standard tracked UK postage is £5.99 for all orders up to 1KG in weight, £6.99 from 1-2KG and £9.99 from 1-5KG. Orders that are in stock are typically dispatched within 1 or 2 working days, via the Royal Mail Tracked24 service. Items that are listed as ‘made to order’ or ‘pre-order’ can take up to 4 months to be made and shipped. Timings may be delayed due to high demand if ordering after the airing of the BBC 1 Make It at Market show Pip (Philippa Whiteside Ceramics) stars in, first broadcasted on 6th March 2025. In this case, intermittent emails will be sent to update on an estimated despatch date and all efforts will be made to make and dispatch orders ahead of the 4 months listed time.
Orders over £150 will be upgraded to Royal Mail Special Delivery.
European Union (EU), including Northern Ireland (NI)
In accordance with the new, as of 13th December 2024, EU Regulation on General Product Safety 2023/988 (‘GPSR’) legislation, Philippa Whiteside Ceramics does not ship to the EU or NI. For products regulated by GPSR to be placed on the EU market, there must be an EU based responsible economic operator in place to ensure compliance tasks are fulfilled. Philippa Whiteside Ceramics is a Sole Trader and is not big enough to justify having an EU representative to comply with the new GPSR. As such, no products can be sold and shipped to the EU and NI.

All international orders are sent by the Royal Mail International Tracked Service.
